Technics has officially debuted their new SL-1210 Mk7 direct drive turntable, a high torque turntable particularly intended for DJ use. The new Mk7 model inherits the conventional design of previous SL-1210 turntables, but with improved dependability and longevity, as well as a completely new coreless direct drive motor and a plethora of sound-enhancing technology. Technics' first new standard DJ turntable in nine years is the SL-1210 Mk7.
The original SL-1210 direct-drive turntable was debuted in 1972 and quickly became a best-seller, selling over 3.5 million units, and it's easy to understand why due to its ease of use, tremendous torque, and exceptional longevity. The SL-1210 immediately became popular among audiophiles and DJs alike, helping to propel DJ and electronic dance music culture into the spotlight. The SL-1210 series is still highly regarded by DJs all over the world.
The SL-1210 Mk7 delivers high-quality sound reproduction while adhering to the Technics philosophy and employing a plethora of fresh new technologies to provide you with the dependability and longevity that has made Technics a well-loved brand. A novel coreless motor has been created that fully removes the iron core from the motor, thereby eliminating the main cause of cogging, which causes the platter to spin unevenly. The space between the coreless stator and rotor magnets has been optimised for maximum torque, resulting in a high torque equal to the SL-1210 Mk5 and making the turntable ideal for DJs.
To precisely read the groove of a record, a very sensitive statically balanced universal S-shaped tonearm is used. The gimbal suspension tonearm has a machined housing and a high precision bearing that enables great tracking performance with minimum stylus hopping even while scratching.
The revised platter has a two-layer structure with deadening rubber on the back side to reduce undesired resonances in the aluminium die-cast platter. The remarkable vibration-damping features keep detrimental vibrations from being transmitted to your recordings, ensuring that you always have a clean sound.
The aluminium die-cast chassis has been combined with a proprietary ABS glass fibre material to create a two-layer construction that considerably lowers external vibrations while being incredibly durable and sturdy. A spring and rubber insulator contribute to excellent frequency characteristics and high-quality sound while also reducing exterior vibrations generated by high sound pressure levels.
Both the power and phono terminals allow you to remove the cables, preventing them from being accidently unplugged while you play. The detachable cable connectors make cable maintenance easier, and you may attach your favourite phono cable if desired. The gold-plated phono terminals reduce sound quality deterioration.
The SL-1210 Mk7 comes with a slew of new features that make it easier to use at all times. When using a range of DJ skills like as scratching and beatmatching, a microprocessor works in tandem with superior motor control technology to provide an exact reaction. Adjustable settings now allow you to tailor the starting torque and braking speed to your specific needs.
Three rotation speeds let you to set the platter speed to 33-1/3, 45, or 78 RPM, while the wide pitch fader allows you to fine-tune the rotation speed with +/-8 percent or +/-16 percent settings. The SL-1210MK7 achieves a highly precise and steady rotation with the best tracking performance possible thanks to the addition of a completely digital pitch control. You may reverse the orientation of the platter by simultaneously pushing the start/stop button and the speed option.
A newly developed stylus illuminator has a push-type mechanism and an extremely brilliant, long-life white LED. The intensity and lighting area have been redesigned to increase visibility of the stylus tip, allowing you to set the needle precisely where you need it even in low-light conditions.
The new SL-1210 Mk7 has a sleek matte black body that appears professional and concise, giving you an appealing and sophisticated appearance. This turntable retains the original SL-1210 series button layout, providing an intuitive and simple to use configuration. The embedded LED lights may be configured to glow in either red or blue, enhancing your image even more.
