With astoundingly clear sound quality, improved playability and connectivity, and a slew of new features, the Pioneer DJ DJM-A9 Next-Generation Professional DJ Mixer elevates the bar for club standard mixers and allows you to take your performances to the next level.

While using the DJM-A9, your performance will sound better than before. There is a high-quality 32-bit A/D converter in the channel input section, and high-quality D/A converters in the master and booth output sections, so you can play any kind of music and have it sound clear and natural on the dance floor and in the DJ booth. The microphone input and headphone outputs have also been fine-tuned and improved through the use of carefully chosen replacement components, resulting in increased sound quality.

The feel of the DJM A9's has also been significantly improved. Several aspects have been modified to make the DJ mixer more intuitive and comfortable to perform on, including greater distance around the EQ knobs. The channel faders and MAGVEL FADER crossfader are smoother than on the renowned DJM-900NXS2, allowing for more fluid mixing and scratching. Furthermore, the Sound Colour FX incorporate the world's first Centre Lock function, which you can activate to ensure that you don't mistakenly cross over between the hi/low settings no matter how rapidly you move the knob.

DJM A9's Beat FX are more intuitive to operate because of the new colour display and redesigned X-Pad, which is now positioned horizontally for simple, sideways finger sliding. The Beat FX channel option is now a separate button, allowing for faster effect routing, and the Multi I/O section has been enhanced to include full send capabilities. There are 14 Beat Effects in all, including three new ones.

While streaming or MCing, an improved microphone section opens up new options. Because of the phantom power supply to the mic input, you may connect a condenser mic directly to the DJM-A9 for the highest possible vocal sound quality. This is an industry-first feature on a DJ mixer. There are three distinct mic effects and a separate reverb to experiment with to dynamically alter the sound of your voice.

Switching DJs or playing back-to-back sets is simple with the DJMA9 due to the dual sets of USB Type-B and Type-C ports, which allow you to connect two PCs/Macs running rekordbox or Serato DJ Pro. And the mixer's increased connection expands your performance options. The DJ mixer also features a Bluetooth/MD input which makes it simple to play music from a mobile device. The audio may be routed to any channel, and any of the mixer's effects can be used to alter the sound.

The Pioneer DJM-A9 is designed to work with the latest rekordbox version. To use the mixer with Serato DJ Pro, you must first purchase a licence or subscription of the software and then download the most recent version from their website. DVS control through either application is supported by the mixer.

The DJM-A9's Wi-Fi® connection is beneficial for front-of-house workers, who can use the new Stagehand app to remotely monitor different information from the club DJ mixer, and even operate selected features, using an iPad wirelessly linked to the same LAN router as the CDJ-3000 decks. Engineers may alter sound system settings and troubleshoot without entering the booth or interrupting the DJ by keeping an eye on things like level metres, track information and much more.

Stunning sound quality

The DJM-A9 improves upon the already excellent sound quality of the DJM-900NXS2 and will make your performances sound even better.

The cutting-edge club sound of today is the result of years of research and development, refinement of current technology, and the addition of cutting-edge new components. The 32-bit high-quality ESS Technology A/D converter in the channel input section ensures crystal-clear, high-resolution sound, while the 32-bit high-quality ESS Technology D/A converters in the master and booth output sections ensure that the sound in the booth is identical to that heard by the crowd. Well chosen new components and design optimization have even enhanced the audio quality of the microphone input and headphone outputs.

Evolved playability

The DJM-A9 is designed to make you feel like you're playing an instrument, with its familiar layout inherited from the DJM family and its improved controls and components allowing for precise mixing and instinctive scratching.

The EQ knobs now have more room for your fingers to manoeuvre, and the channel section's high-quality, bright LEDs make it much simpler to acquire a visual sense of sound levels than ever before. The isolators' frequency response has been fine-tuned to take advantage of modern trends in music production, allowing for more expressive performances. Now with the third-generation MAGVEL FADER crossfader and improved channel faders over the DJM-900NXS2, you can mix and scratch with ease and speed.

Sound Color FX with world’s first Center Lock

If you're using the popular Sound Color FX, you can now activate a new Center Lock option that will prevent the knobs from moving past their centre position when you're using them. This allows you to rapidly adjust the effect to its maximum hi or lowest low setting and always getting back to the centre without accidently over rotating to the other filter setting.  Disabling Centre Lock allows you to use the Sound Colour FX knobs as you would on the DJM-900NXS2.

Newly advanced Beat FX

The DJM-A9 features a vastly improved Beat FX component, a fan favourite that has been included in every DJM model since the series' introduction. The new colour display has illumination that aligns with the X-horizontal Pad's layout, making it easier to manipulate with a single finger slide, and displays the effect's state clearly and fast. Analogue tape effects like Echo and Ping Pong may be customised using the X-Pad. Besides from the already-varied 14 Beat FX, you now have access to three brand new ones:

Mobius: Alters the oscillator's frequency so that it rises and falls in sync with the music.

Triplet Filter: The filter's cutoff frequency, in the case of a triplet, varies cyclically with the beat (based on 3 beats).

Triplet Roll: Plays the recorded sound three times in a row at the chosen beat fraction (based on 3 beats).

The addition of a separate button for selecting channels greatly facilitates the process of swiftly applying effects to the desired channel.

Enhanced mic section

The DJM A9's microphone section was upgraded to give you more control and allow for more creative performances on the mic in response to the changing demands of DJs when using mics during live streaming and club sets. Unique to the DJM-A9 is a phantom powered input, allowing you to use a professional condenser microphone with the mixer. In addition, you may now alter the tone of your voice and pump up the crowd with the help of three new microphone effects, including a specific reverb effect:

Echo: Creates an echo effect by repeatedly playing back a delayed signal at a lower volume.

Pitch: Adjusts the microphone's pitch.

Megaphone: Adjusts the microphone such that it replicates the sound of a megaphone.

It’s quick and easy to turn the mic input on or off with the brand-new Push-to-Talk button when you want to grab the mic and address the audience. The audio from the mic can be excluded from the recording output if you want, so you can MC for the live crowd but record your mix without vocals.

Expanded connectivity

Dual USB Type-B and USB Type-C connections (2 of each) allow you to connect two computers at once, facilitating smooth handoffs between DJs and facilitating back-to-back sets. With the DJM-A9's Bluetooth input, you may seamlessly include music from other devices like smartphones and other Bluetooth compatible music player devices into your shows and then utilise the mixer's functions and effects to customise the sound. The mixer's send capabilities come from the Multi I/O section's independent channel selection, which allows you to apply external effects independently from Beat FX. This allows you to send the processed signal from a device like an RMX-1000 or a delay pedal to a different input rather than letting it overflow into the original channel.

Dual independent headphone outputs and booth EQ

Turntable DJs can share headphones and listen to several channels simultaneously. With individual volume controls, mix balance knobs, and cue buttons for each pair of headphones, two DJs can easily cue up songs for changeovers and back-to-back performances. In addition, the 2-band booth EQ allows you to adjust the high and low frequencies independently of the master output, creating an environment in the booth that perfectly complements the energy on the dance floor.

Support for the brand-new Stagehand app

Stagehand, the PRO DJ LINK remote management app for front of house staff, is fully compatible with the DJM-A9. An engineer may improve the sound system's settings and manage a smoother, more impactful event without interrupting the DJ's performance or even entering the booth by using an iPad linked wirelessly to the mixer through a LAN router (sold separately). Stagehand may be found in the App Store for download.
